It’s Weird to Grow a Beard

Bibliographic Information: Fox, Neal. (2013) It’s Weird to Grow a Beard, NY:  CreateSpace Independent Publishing Platform.

Brief Annotation: These poems tell the story of a town where everything rhymes. Stan the Man, twins Ooey and Gooey, and a mutt in a rutt are just a few of the characters in this collection of cute and humorous poems.

Genre: Poetry

Grade Level: Grades K-4

Readers who will like this: Creative students who like to write will like these poems. Also, boy students will appreciate the humor.

Rating/Response: 7/10. Slightly childish, but all in all, these are good poems. That is why I indicated that it should be for younger children.

One question you would ask before a read aloud: Is it weird to grow a beard?
